Contemporary Australian textiles exhibition curated by Kevin Murray

This exhibition of contemporary Australian textiles was curated by Kevin Murray. planned for Crafted Vancouver in May 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic. An online version was launched and an iteration at the Australian Tapestry workshop.

Artists include: Eva Abbinga, Kay Abude, Mary Burgess, Cresside Collette, Lee Darroch, Siri Hayes, Valerie Kirk, Sara Lindsay, Vicki Mason, Mu Naw Poe, Sharon Peoples, Yunuen Perez, Julia Raath, Eloise Rapp, Abdullah Syed, Shuklay Tahpo, Susie Vickery, Sera Waters, Ilka White and Liz Williamson. Curator: Kevin Murray.

Murray writes: "Australia has a unique textile art. It results from a variety of influences, including the Indigenous use of plants for weaving and dyeing, the settler wool industry, the rich migrant influences and the studio craft movement. Today, Australian textile art has a particularly important story to tell about how such a diverse continent might come together".
