Sera Waters' ghostly embroideries

Adelaide artist Sera Waters is known for her delicate but dark embroideries and hand-crafted sculptures.

In her work, she uses everything from kangaroo skins, terry towelling, Swarovski crystals and inherited bedspreads to create work that investigates the role that women played in the colonisation of South Australia.

She calls her work, which draws on her family's history in the early colony of South Australia, genealogical ghostscapes.

Her latest exhibition, Domestic Arts, is on now in Adelaide as part of the South Australian Living Artists Festival.
